Pick's Disease

The Pick's Disease is commonly called as PiD and Pick disease. The Pick's disease is characterized by dementia which is about 0.4-2%. The pick's disease was first explained by Arnold Pick in 1892. The pick's disease is the brain illness. The Pick's disease is noticed by Pick bodies which are rounded, microscopic structures seen inside exaggerated cells. Pick's Disease causes a slow shrinking of brain cells due to excess protein build-up. This disease is more seen in women than men. Pick's disease usually begins after age 40. The diagnosis of Pick's disease is difficult during life. Pick's Disease is a rare disorder which features the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.

The Pick's disease can be diagnosed by using the different test such as ECG, Neurological exam, MRI and by taking the some test by which it is confirmed that it is the Pick's disease. The brain scan may help to define Pick's disease by showing the degree and location of the degeneration in the brain. There is no treatment for the Pick's disease. The certain antidepressants may help manage mood swings related to Pick's disease.
